The government plans to implement a new strategy to ensure the safety of teachers working in terror-prone areas of North Eastern and Upper Coastal regions.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki revealed this strategy during a session with the National Assembly's Departmental Committee on Education. The plan includes pooling teachers together and providing them with secure accommodations in these regions. The government aims to make the security of teachers in these areas a top priority, especially considering that over the past decade, 37 teachers have been killed by terrorists, and many others have been injured in such attacks.

This new strategy will involve enhanced patrols and heightened security measures in schools located in unsafe regions. The government also plans to collaborate with local communities to gather information on potential security threats. In the long term, the government aims to eliminate the threat of terrorism, restore peace and stability, and encourage investment and development in these affected regions.
